Intercede Health was founded by Dr. Philip Sanger 1995, along with four internal medicine physicians, all boarded in critical care medicine. This core group recognized a real opportunity to create a company focused on grappling with the challenges of treating patients more effectively in a inpatient environment. The company was successful in creating custom solutions for different organizations and health plans.

Branching out to other areas in need
Intercede Health launched the first Transitional Care Clinic in 1998. This move was in direct response to the need for providing high-acuity patients with an alternative to the emergency room. Since then, our base of clinics has grown in the Houston area. Our clinics are a highly effective way to treat high acuity patients in an outpatient setting.

Order Optimizer was launched in 2004 as a way to help Hospitalists treat patients better while decreasing the errors inherent in paper orders. No other product in the marketplace approaches Order Optimizer's merging capability and intuitive user interface. Order Optimizer is now a company with its own leadership team and marketing strategy.
