     PHYSICIAN ADVISOR ROLE
 

Intercede Health provides consulting Physician Advisor services to hospitals as an efficient, effective way of dealing with performance inefficiency, low revenue, long length-of-stays, and inadequate reimbursement rates.

Intercede Health Physician Advisors typically

  • Work with and directly support Care Management department initiatives
  • Participate with Care Management Committees
  • Review individual cases, including denied cases, to evaluate appropriateness of admission or length-of-stay
  • Utilize and support standard published criteria and Hospital guidelines
  • Formulate medical necessity appeal letters
  • Communicate with attending physicians regarding resource utilization and quality issues
  • Provide ongoing education and information to medical staff colleagues regarding best practices, care management structures and functions, and use of clinical guidelines
  • Coordinates directly with Hospital Administration to support Hospital clinical initiatives
  • Review Care Management reports and performance measurements
  • Identify opportunities for improvement in patient care, clinical documentation, resource utilization, and reduction of denials
